How do I create an account?

Both landlords and tenants need to create an account to use our service. Signing up is always free for both parts. To sign up, go to the upper right corner of our webpage and click “Sign up”. The first step of signing up is to tell us if you are renting out a room or if you are here to find a room.
We will guide you through the process step by step and tell you what information we need. Renting out a room is free of charge. For tenants who are trying to find a room, you pay a one time service fee once you’ve signed the contract for your future home.
How do I verify my account?

We recommend verifying your account with BankID as it is the safest option for both parties. You can also connect your Facebook or LinkedIn to your profile, and your profile picture will automatically be shown on your profile.
When browsing for a room or a roomie, you have the possibility to filter tenants and landlords by whether they verified their account and which method they have chosen to verify it.
How does the matchmaking algorithm work?

Both as a landlord and tenant, you need to answer questions about your lifestyle, preferences and interests. Our algorithm processes the information you provide regarding your lifestyle and preferences and you end up with a matchmaking score. This score is later on used to find a roommate with a similar score. You can easily go to a user profile and see in detail what areas you answered the same, and also, where you didn’t to see if you are a good fit to live together.
Do I need to create an account to use Hemavi?

You can look for available rooms and roommate without creating an account. However, in order to access the matchmaking score, send messages, and sign the rental contact, you need to have created an account on Hemavi.
I’ve finished creating an account, what’s next?

If you are looking for a room to rent, the next step is to look at potential rooms to rent. You can go to “Rooms for rent” page and search for the location where you’re looking for a room. When you find a good match, you can easily message the landlord through our built-in chat function. If you are a landlord, you first need to upload your room before starting contacting tenants and finding your perfect tenant.
I’ve logged in, but I keep being asked to upload a profile photo. Is that necessary?

It is mandatory to upload a profile pic on Hemavi. When building trust and bonding over the internet, knowing who the person on the other side of the screen is really helps. When connecting your Facebook or LinkedIn to Hemavi, your profile picture can automatically be used on Hemavi so you don’t have to upload it manually.
Do I need to connect my BankID, Facebook and LinkedIn?

You don’t have to, but if you do, it will increase your chances of finding a room or an equally serious roommate. Verifying your account with BankID and connecting social media will without a doubt make you look more legit.
