For Tenants
Find information relevant when searching for a place to stay through Hemavi.
Hemavi is a marketplace for co-living and shared accommodations. Using a proprietary algorithm, we match compatible roommates who will enjoy living together. Our mission is to modernize the way people find and share living spaces.
On Hemavi, room ads are verified and users can book places months in advance and can also access services such as online contract signatures and co-inhabitant insurance.
Hemavi is a platform built for roommates, by roommates. Here are some of the benefits of our platform:
- Matchmaking algorithm for roommates: Using a proprietary algorithm, we match compatible roommates. Our detailed profiles enable you to know your potential roommates, the personality, interests, and be the judge of whether they’re the right roommates. We exist solely to create a great and safe co-living experience and the happiness it brings.
- Advanced Online booking: Secure your new home before you arrive in your new city with a compatible roommate. Plus, you’ll have an address in advance and an invoice for your payment.
- Safety Guarantee: Looking for housing can come with the risk of scams, especially if you’re moving from abroad. With Hemavi, the landlord won’t receive the rent until you move in and you’re happy with the place.
- Your place will be as advertised: You have 48 hours from your move-in date to let us know if the place is not as advertised. If the landlord misrepresented details about the place they advertised on Hemavi and you’re not satisfied, we offer you a full refund.
- Additional services: Hemavi has partnered with companies to provide you with discounts on relevant services for you when you move to your new home.
It’s free to search for a place on Hemavi. You only pay when you book a place through Hemavi and secure your new home. We charge a fee of 30% of one month’s rent once your booking is completed. These fees allow us to maintain our website and pay our employees, who work hard to improve your experience. For example, Hemavi keeps your first month’s rent safe until you move in. We only transfer the money to the landlord after you have moved in. If the room is not as advertised, we offer you a full refund.
Hemavi is a coliving platform that connects compatible landlords renting out and tenants looking for shared accommodations. As a tenant. you are protected by our secure payment system. Hemavi handles the first month's rental payment and transfers it to the landlord 48 hours after you move in to protect you from any scam. We're not responsible for:
- The check-in at your new accommodation.
- We don’t take care of handing in the keys when you arrive at your new accommodation.
- We don’t handle the deposit. If a landlord requires a deposit, you pay the deposit directly to the landlord.
If an advertiser tries to make you pay your first month’s rent outside Hemavi, please contact us and report the user by chatting with us through the customer support chat or by emailing us at contact@hemavi.com. It could be a potential scam.
Do not contact the advertiser any further and do not make any payments to them. If you make a booking outside the platform, we cannot offer any safety guarantees or refunds.
Protecting our users' safety and ensuring that they do not fall victim to scams is Hemavi’s priority. Until a booking is confirmed, you can’t share contact information such as email addresses, phone numbers, Skype names, Facebook links, Instagram links, etc.
Our system can detect these details and will hide them automatically. If you have done this and received a warning message, don't worry. Simply do not send any more contact information, and keep all of the conversations on Hemavi until the booking has been made. Once the booking is confirmed, you will receive the advertiser's email address and phone number.
Scammers often try to lure users off the platform to convince them to send the payments to them directly. By keeping all of the communication and payments on Hemavi, we can offer our secure payment system that ensures that the payment is safe until the tenant has moved in.
