I’ve created my profile, who else is allowed to view it?

On Hemavi, all profiles are public. However, to be able to send messages and sign the online contract, you need to create an account.
How can I be sure that the person I’m talking to is real?

You can easily see on a user’s profile if they have verified themselves with BankID, Facebook or LinkedIn. We recommend all users to verify their identity with BankID to make the process of finding a room and roomie feel as safe as possible.
I’m a landlord, how can I know that a tenant is serious about renting my room?

A user on Hemavi can only have one contract that is pending to make sure that the users is serious with signing the contact. After the contract has been signed, you can easily see that the tenant has paid in the deposit for the room under ‘My Contracts’. The deposit will be paid out from Hemavi to the landlord as soon as the tenant has moved in.
I’m a tenant, I’ve transferred the amount for the deposit to Hemavi, what if the landlord lied about the room ad?

The deposit is safely held by Hemavi. If there are discrepancies between what have been advertised and the actual room, you can initiate a Refund Process and retrieve your paid-in deposit.

Do I need to have my own home insurance when renting a room through Hemavi?

Yes. We always recommend that no matter in what stage you are in your life or where you live, make sure you have a good home insurance. When you renting a room through Hemavi having your own home insurance is mandatory. We therefore give you the option to either sign up for an insurance through our partner, Hedvig. Of course, if you want another insurance company or if you already have one, that is totally up to you. If you already have a home insurance at your current home, don’t forget to tell them where you are moving to make sure your new home is insured.
